Playful, playful Miles

Miles adores playing. We love watching him play and playing with him. He's had a long, play-filled weekend and I can tell he's loved every single minute of it.

Friday, I took him to Fun Fortress to jump and play in the inflatable bounce house. He had so much fun doing that. Then I went to McDonald's with Katelyn and Tonya and their girls to play. Miles loves that McDonald's!

Saturday, Miles had his swim class. He's such a fish and I'm sad that we only have one week left. Maybe we'll sign up for session 2? Then we went to the library and Miles had some fun playing in the children's library. We came home so he could eat and nap. After he woke up we packed up and went to see Tom's friend Darin from high school for a bit and then visited Tom's parents. Today we took Miles to Amazone. He LOVED it. He climbed and climbed. I think sometimes he's part monkey too. Tom took him down 2 slides too. They were BIG compared to what Miles is use to.

We are so anxious for winter to be over. The parks are calling to us!!! Once it gets warm and drier out, we plan to take walks to the park up the road and meet Tina and Lorelei.

We're also starting to plan for Easter. I'm still searching for a great outfit. I plan on stopping at Children's Orchard before our Mardi Gras party on Tuesday to buy some jeans for Miles, so maybe they'll have some Easter clothes out.

Valentines Day party

Today Miles got to celebrate Valentines Day with his friends. This also marks our 1 year anniversary of being in NEOAMG! It's hard to believe we've only known our friends for 1 year. Last year Miles was just an itty bitty baby at the party who just sat with mommy and watched the other kids play. It's amazing how all of his friends have grown too!

Miles loves seeing his two "best friends." That's in quotes because they're only 15, 17 and 23 months old and really don't interact other than waving or sharing a plate of food. But I can see Miles is starting to recognize them from all of the other events and smiles and walks towards them when he sees them. I can't wait until they start forming real friendships. I just hope Aidan and Miles include Kaydan once they realize there's a difference between boys and girls, because she's just the cutest little girl ever!

Miles also has 2 penpals. He sent a fish card and a drawing with stickers to one and tonight we're going to work on the seond penpal's letter. I bought a bunch of stickers today for Miles to use.

Oh, and I am gradually working my way into crafiness. I bought a new canvas bag and some patches and I'm going to make Miles his very own library bag. We tend to misplace the books once we get home, so hopefully making something special will help us keep things together. He's going to have cars, trains and planes all over it. I'm excited to work on it.

Weekly update

I'm going to try to update this weekly.

Not much new going on. Miles got a new tooth...so we're at 8. I looked on the ADA's website and he's right on schedule for baby teeth eruption.

He's so smart now. We bought him a Melissa and Doug shape sorter. He's diligently trying to figure it out. He has gotten frustrated a couple of times with it. We bought it at our favorite consignment shop. I also bought some clothes there for summer. I thought I'd gamble and get size 24 months and 2T, but I have NO idea how he'll fit into 2T or 24 mo pants...they have HUGE waists. My skinny boy needs to gain some weight I guess.

We're starting to think ahead to our vacation. I think we decided to forgo the pack n play. (I think that was the biggest waste of $100+ ever.) We're hoping our co-travelers will take the stroller in their SUV since we won't need it until Monday of our vacation at the soonest. I'm hoping he will use the babyhawk most of the time, but I'm sure he'll want to roam around and play and in that case, the stroller may be a better option.

Miles has a busy spring and remainder of the winter. We're going on a lot of play dates between now and vacation. He really loves seeing his friends (and mommy likes the interaction too!). I'll post pictures as we go to various places.

Well the little man just pooped...off to clean him up.
